Before we begin, here's a movie review on the Good Dinosaur:
Much better then I thought it would be. Reminded me of Ice Age. Based on the previews I thought it would be a cliche 'little kid' movie, but it was actually very well done. Although, I wouldn't call it the most family friendly movie ever. There were several gruesome parts and even some gruesome dialogue that I would have muted for Calvin if I had seen it before him. They definitely broke several rules for a kids movie, including the ending which had me and Calvin balling. (We have this terrible allergy to sad movies, runny nose, clogged up throat, watery eyes, it's no fun). Dory and Hobbs didn't seem to be as effected...
Pixar does a good job with it's sad endings, like Monsters Inc, Toy Story 3 and Up, and I would add this movie to the list.
On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give the Good Dinosaur an 8, and I would suggest watching it.
And finally, here's a guest post from my OYAN (one year adventure novel) friend, Chocolate Milk Girl. Although I wasn't there to witness the event, I was told she was given this name at the Adventure Novel camp with my older siblings, because she was graciously offered chocolate milk without the cup. Meaning, The milk was in the cup, until it was offered to her. Enough said.
That one video isn't showing up on my computer, I might see if I can re do it, sorry!
ReplyDeleteI knew you were going to choose Chocolate Milk out from all the other ones;P So have your siblings told you the stories behind all the others, as well?XP (It's all Batman's fault that I'm a Guppy Queen!)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the good dinosour, partly because their was like NO talking in it - thus, my assumption that was a modern silent filmXD - but I may want to see it after reading your review:)

ReplyDeleteBoy, my sibling need to tell me these things! i was wondering about the other names!
ReplyDeleteActually, I think I would have liked it more if it was a silent film. I didn't particularly like the talking dinosaurs, but I guess the plot wouldn't have worked well without the talking. Ah well.
I really liked the good dinosaur. It made me cry (I think I have an allergy to sad movies too.)I thought it was a pretty original idea (although based purely off of evolution) and I liked how they switched up the roles of the dinosaurs and humans.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was super sad! I could kinda look past the evolution cuz it was a good movie.
